TikTok have confirmed that its e-commerce offering won't be arriving here this year.

"I can confirm that there are no plans to launch TikTok Shop in Australia in 2024," a TikTok spokesperson told AdNews.

TikTok Shop allows creators to sell products directly on TikTok through in-feed videos, live videos, and the Showcase tab.

Showcase is a feature that allows customers to shop directly from a seller's or a creator's account by displaying a shopping bag icon on the profile page of a TikTok account. This allows customers to browse products and shop brands or creator-listed products.

It was reported earlier in the year that the company had filed a trademark application in Australia for TikTok Shop.

The shopping feature of the short-form video app was rolled out worldwide in September last year and is available in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam.
