The federal government has launched campaign ahead of the Voice referendum to held between October and December this year.
The referendum will ask Australians whether they want to change the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing a body called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.
The information program encourages Australians visit Voice.gov.au to get ready for a conversation about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice and make an informed decision.
Information will be distributed through mainstream and targeted channels, including television and radio commercials translated into a number of languages.
Lindy Burney, minister for Indigenous Australians, says all Australians need to be well-informed as they consider the proposal to change the constitution.
“I welcome the launch of this information campaign which will reach audiences of every background and is as a key step in preparing the country for this national conversation before voting day," she said.
The website hosts newly created resources aimed at helping Australians learn about the proposed change to the Constitution and the Voice referendum proposal.
These include; explainer animations, conversation guides, infographics/posters, fact sheets, social media materials, audio files, translated resources, dedicated First Nations resources, Auslan videos.
