“You have the power to change the world,” the UN says in its briefing document.
“We need help translating critical public health messages.”
The UN, seeking a multiple of creative solutions to reach different audiences and cultures, says it’s looking for “magic” to bring creative twists and cultural quirks to life.
The best responses will be amplified and shared as widely as possible by the UN.
UN secretary general Antonio Guterres: “We are in an unprecedented situation and the normal rules no longer apply. We cannot resort to the normal tools in such unusual times.
“The creativity of the response must match the unique nature of the crisis -- and the magnitude of the response must match its scale.”
The brief highlights six areas the public needs to be aware of: Personal hygiene; Social distancing; Know the symptoms; Kindness contagion; Myth busting; Do more, donate.
