The Monkeys’ Ant Keogh has been named the most awarded chief creative officer of 2017 according to The Drum’s Directory Big Won Rankings.
Keogh left Clemenger BBDO Melbourne last year after a decade at the agency to join The Monkeys, following its acquisition by Accenture.
He beat creative talent from across the globe for the top gong with an impressive 736 points.
Keogh is renowned in Australia, and now the globe, as one the best creative minds in the business, working on some of Australia's most awarded advertising in his decade at Clemenger, including TAC ‘Graham’, Snickers' 'Hungerithm', Bonds 'Boys', National Australia Bank 'Breakup', Carlton Draught 'Slo Mo' and 'Beer Chase' and 'Made from Beer'.
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne topped the list for the most award-winning agency of the year as well, with campaigns such as Meet Graham for Transport Accident Commission, which was the most awarded campaign of the year, also scoring 797 points.
The fifth most awarded campaign was Clemenger’s Hungerithm' for Mars Chocolate in Australia, which scored 172 points from award wins.
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and Sydney CEO Nick Garrett says that while 2017 was an outstanding year for the agency, its sights are now set firmly on the year ahead.
“If you had asked us two years ago if we would be in this position, we would have laughed in disbelief. We are deeply proud of our brilliant team and our brave clients because good work that works isn’t easy, and it takes passion, curiosity and resilience in equal measure to make it happen," he says.
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne’s creative chairman James McGrath adds: “If there was any Agency of the Year title that says we are doing something right, it’s the Big Won, it tells us that our agenda to be our best across all-platforms, is working. It’s both a great privilege and an honour to be continuing the greater BBDO best in class, year on year.’
For the 13th time in 14 years, BBDO Worldwide was once again announced as the most awarded agency network across all marketing communications, with Almap BBDO, BBDO New York, Colenso BBDO, Impact BBDO and CHE Proximity contributing to the network’s win.
Second on the list of most awarded chief creative officers was Sean Bryan from McCann New York, with 585 points. He was involved in the much lauded ‘Fearless Girl’ statue.
Third on the list was Eric Silver from McCann New York. He earned 575 points and also worked on Fearless Girl with Bryant.
