Authentic signs on for multi-year deal as content supplier for SCA

Authentic Entertainment, producers of shows such as Take 40 Australia, Planet Vevo, BOXED IN with Fifi Box and The Drop, has signed a fresh multi-year deal with Southern Cross Austereo (SCA). Both parties have cemented the deal with the planned launch of a new radio show, which will be syndicated across the network later this winter.

Authentic will work closely with head of content Craig Bruce at SCA and Dave Cameron who heads up Today's HIT Network.

Disney reworks distribution representation

Current general manager of media distribution, Haydn Arndt, has expanded role to Asia-Pacific with a focus on ESPN while the company has brought in Greg Sneddon as its general manager of Disney Media Distribution. Arndt will oversee ESPN in both Australia and New Zealand will expanding outward to Asia-Pacific, and he will continue to be based in Sydney. Sneddon will oversee sales and distribution in Australia and New Zealand of content from studios including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm, while overseeing sales from the Disney-ABC Television group and its digital assets. 

Peters Ice Cream appoints Crossmark

Retail marketing services company Crossmark has been appointed to the Peters Ice Cream account. Crossmark will be responsible for delivering Peters' sales through in store execution and has assembled a specialised sales team to manage the corporate and independent grocery channels in Australia. Under its remit includes brands such as Drumstick, Frosty Fruit, Connoisseur, Fandangles, Maxibon, Light and Creamy and Skinny Cow.

SCA joint venture launches Australia's first kids radio station

SCA and children's content provider Kinderling have announced a joint venture which will see the launch of Kinderling Kids radio, the first Australian kids radio station on DAB+ digital. The station will be tailored to the routine of an Australian household with young children, broadcasting music and stories for children aged zero to six. Each weekday at midday the station will also broadcast Kinderling Conversation, a 60 minute talkback parenting program. Kinderling Kids Radio also offers advertisers brand alignment via sponsorship of relevant content territory, trade promotion and native content.

99 Bikes launches affiliate push with Navigate Digital

Bike shop franchise 99 Bikes has appointed Navigate Digital to handle its affiliate marketing, aiming to be ahead of the chasing peloton. Navigate Digital launched in Australia back in April, but was founded in the UK back in 2007.

Grey boosts creative team

Grey Australia has boosted the digital capability of its creative and strategy team with the hire of Josh Harvey and Cohan Banfield as designers and Matt Simms as strategic planner. All three will be based in Sydney. Paul Worboys, COO of Grey Australia, said, "The appointment of this terrific trio, with their abilities centred around digital creativity and thinking, will take our product to a new level. The digital work and thinking coming out of Grey is of a very high standard and is integral to everything we produce.”
