It was a weekend when The Embassy rated well for Channel Nine, while Seven took a slight haircut due to Telethon coverage, and The Big Adventure took a dive week on week.

The latest OzTAM ratings are out for the weekend, with Nine winning on Saturday night while Seven reversed the ledger on Sunday evening with Telethon coverage wrapping up.

Seven ran coverage of Telethon in support of Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth over the weekend, with the event televised over 26 hours on Saturday and Sunday, wrapping up at 8:30pm on Sunday.

Subsequently, Seven's numbers on Saturday night took a bit of a shave, with Nine beating out Seven with a 29.7% share to Seven's 29.3%.

However, the big story out of Saturday night was the performance of the ABC, which managed a 22% share on the back of high-rating programs for the night.

Meanwhile Network Ten could only garner a 14.9% share.

ABC took out the most-watched program for the night, with a repeat of New Tricks proving popular. However with viewers of 860,000 on the metro numbers, one would suggest it was a quiet night on the tube.

In fact, both New Tricks and Scott & Bailey managed to out-rate the Four Nations Rugby, but the ABC shows did benefit from being shown in all key metro markets, with Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth missing out on the big game.

The main action was on Sunday night, with nine's new docu-drama The Embassy bringing in 882,000 viewers for the evening making it the highest non-news program for the night.

It was a good night for Nine, with 60 minutes taking home the highest rating program for the evening.

The other spot of interest was in the performance of The Big Adventure after its premiere last week. With Telethon over by 8:30pm in Perth, the show was able to run unhindered, although at a later time-slot in Perth.

However, it suffered a ratings dip week on week, down 30% on last week's launch without The X Factor to give it a solid lead-out.

Depite the solid performance of Nine's programs for the night, Seven won Sunday with a 29.4% against Nine's 27.2% share.

Ten finished the night with a 20.7% share thanks to programs such as Modern Family and Scorpion, with the ABC coming in behind with a 15.9% share.
