Network Ten is launching a free-to-air high definition simulcast of its primary channel.
Viewers will be able to watch shows in HD including I’m A Celebrity, Family Feud, The Project, The Living Room, NCIS and Modern Family on Channel 13 from 2 March.
The implementation sees Ten follow suit from the Nine, launching 9HD at the end of last year in a “complete reset” of the network.
Ten HD will also broadcast Ten’s sporting events in vivid detail, starting with the first leg of the 2016 V8 Supercars calendar and the 2016 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
The new channel will also simulcast the new shows coming to Ten over the next few months such Long Lost Family, All Star Family Feud and The People v. O.J Simpson, as well as the return of MasterChef and Offspring.
Network Ten CEO, Paul Anderson, says: “There has been a clear, growing demand from our audiences for HD and I’m delighted that recent changes to legislation have allowed us to bring all the excitement of HD to Ten for the first time.”
The announcement follows Channel Seven and Channel Nine investment in new channels including 7flix and 9Life.
