Asia Pacific ticketing, live entertainment and data analytics business TEG has appointed Chris Johnston as its newest head of digital.

Johnston joins from Slingshot Media, where he had held a similar role, and will take over from Karen Chapple who leaves the business after six years.

TEG stated Chapple had made a significant contribution during her time with the business, including the establishment of BOOST, TEG Digital’s in-house agency.
Speaking on the appointment of Johnston, TEG CEO Geoff Jones says his extensive experience made him the "perfect candidate" to take over the role.

“TEG is unrivalled in Asia Pacific when it comes to the high quality of its assets and expertise in data, digital, technology and ticketing,” Jones says.

“Chris is an impressive operator who has both the drive and experience required to take this core area of TEG’s business to new heights, and more importantly, deliver outstanding results for our clients.”

Prior to Slingshot, Johnston was at Carat Australia as head of Digital and direct for Woolworths and previously worked for McCann Erickson as a general manager.

To support a transition of Johnston into the role, Chapple will finish at TEG on July 9.

“Having worked closely with TEG in recent years, I’ve witnessed the incredible business that Geoff and his team have been able to create," Johnston says.

“With unrivalled data, great tech and incredible people, TEG is in an enviable position to lead the next evolution of data-driven marketing. I’m excited to join the Team to help make that happen and realise the endless opportunities that lie ahead.”

Dominic White will also join TEG as the organisation’s head of communications and corporate affairs.

He brings to the role over 20 years’ experience in media and communications both in Australia and the United Kingdom.

White was previously head of communications and content at TV industry marketing and research body ThinkTV, owned by Nine, Seven West Media, Network Ten and Foxtel/MCN.

Prior to that, he spent 20 years in journalism, most recently as the media & marketing editor for The Australian Financial Review

“Dom has an outstanding track record in his field, touching on media, politics, business affairs, and content generation,” Jones says.

“TEG is a dynamic and diverse live entertainment, ticketing and data analytics company that is not just a domestic leader but is continuing rapid expansion internationally."
