Four agencies have made it to the second pitch round for Tabcorp's creative account, according to industry insiders.
In the first round, six to eight agencies were invited to pitch.
TAB was expected to take two to three agencies through, but have chosen four -- DDB Worldwide, Accenture, Publicis Groupe and Ogilvy -- AdNews can reveal.
The winner will be chosen mid-December with an offical announcement early January, AdNews understands.
The move comes a few months after Jenni Barnett was appointed chief customer officer and the demerger of its Lotteries and Keno business in May.
Barnett said: “Tabcorp is undertaking a closed review of our creative agency roster. Now is the right time to assess the market to ensure we have the best possible partner for the next three years based on our new company strategy."
After three years of holding the TAB creative account M&C Saatchi declined the invitation to re-pitch.
Justin Graham, CEO M&C Saatchi ANUZ, said: “We leave the TAB brand in a strong and enviable position and wish them the best of luck with the next phase of their brand journey.”
Currently the TAB media account, valued at $50 million, is held by OMD.
