Brands have started rolling out teasers for commercials to be aired at the 2025 Super Bowl next month.
Among those paying up to $US7 million for a 30 second slot is icecream brand Häagen-Daz, making its debut with a commercial led by its newly appointed creative agency nice&frank.
Streaming service Tubi, cracker brand RITZ and grocery delivery service Instacart will also invest in the game for the first time.
Some old favourites have also been locked in with Hellmann’s mayonnaise returning for the fifth year in a row and PepsiCo's Mountain Dew its seventh Super Bowl appearance.
Broadcaster Fox has reportedly been selling 30-second commercial spots for more than $US7 million.
Fox executive chair Lachlan Murdoch has confirmed the company has sold out its Super Bowl inventory.
“We still have a pretty robust football calendar yet to come, culminating with our broadcast of Super Bowl LIX, where I’m sorry to say we are already sold out and at record pricing,” he said.
Last year’s broadcaster, CBS, pulled in nearly $700 million in advertising dollars from the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl LIX, with an audience of more than 120 million, is being held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9.
American rapper Kendrick Lamar is headlining the halftime show, said to be one of the biggest musical events of the year, sponsored by Apple Music.
Jeep has confirmed it will run an ad during the big game, but it seems Ford and General Motors are sitting out this year’s advertising extravaganza.
Snacks are always big at the Super Bowl, and this year is no exception.
Hershey Company brand Reese’s is returning after last year’s commercial had “the internet buzzing and snack aisles emptying”.
“The positive reception of our 2024 ad from customers and consumers helped generate great commercial success for the brand and Reese's Caramel Big Cups,” Hershey’s vice president of brand strategy and creative development Ryan Riess said.
“For 2025, we knew we had to go bigger and bolder... So, here we are – back for round two.”
Frito-Lay and Doritos has revived its ‘Crash the Super Bowl’ ad, Nerds has teased a spot featuring a dancing gummy cluster and Taco Bell has returned to the game after a three-year hiatus.
Nestlé’s Coffee Mate, Totino’s Pizza Rolls, Coors Light and Pringles are also set to make an appearance.
