MediaCom, OMD and Publicis Media are the three media agencies vying for the $70m Suncorp account, AdNews understands.
AdNews revealed last week that Suncorp was reviewing its current media agency contract, 18 months after it appointed Publicis Media as part of a wider restructure of its marketing arrangements.
The review is being led by recently appointed CMO Mim Haysom, who joined the brand from M&C Saatchi this year.
The Suncorp Group spent $74 million on media in the last 12 months from September 2017 to August 2018, according to Nielsen, across its various brands which include AAMI Insurance, GIO Insurance and Australian Pensioners Insurance Agency (APIA) Insurance, among others.
AdNews understands if OMD is successful it could impact their relationship with Bank of Queensland, with Suncorp having a heavy presence in their region and it being a conflict client.

Suncorp worked solely with Starcom until it last reviewed its media in 2016 and then appointed Publicis Media as a Power of One solution in 2017, which is currently the incumbent on the account.
As well as a review of its media agency, Suncorp is currently pitching creative for its sub-brand APIA, which previously worked with DDB Melbourne.
The review comes as Suncorp shifts from a house of brands to a masterbrand strategy.
A decision on the pitch is expected this week.
