MELBOURNE: Suncorp Group has promoted Lisa Harrison to head of general insurance brand & marketing replacing John Moore, who exits the company this month.

Moore is to leave the company after two and a half years in the role on 30 June, as reported by AdNews [4 June 2010, page 3].

Harrison, who was previously the executive manager of personal insurance business planning, will be responsible for marketing strategy and activities for all of Suncorp's retail brands.

She will oversee above-the-line and below-the-line marketing and media planning and buying for the mass market insurance brands GIO, APIA, AAMI, Suncorp Personal Insurance in Queensland and the niche brands Bingle, Shannons, Just Car Insurance and InsureMyRide.

Her direct reports include the executive managers of marketing for the Suncorp brands.

Executive general manager customer product & pricing Natasha Fenech said Harrison's previous role in developing Suncorp's business strategy put her in a "strong position" to take the brand forward.

"[Lisa will] ensure that future marketing activity supports the wider business strategy and aligns to other projects within general insurance".

"We are very committed to Lisa and what she brings to the role," Fenech said.

Harrison has been with Suncorp for six years, prior to this she worked for the Commonwealth Bank as home loans product manager.
