Video advertising and monetisation platform SpotX has appointed Ilda Jamison as managing director in Australia and New Zealand.

Jamison, starting mid May, is tasked with leading the company's next phase of growth in the region and re-establishing SpotX as the "leading" video advertising platform with offerings around addressable TV, over-the-top (OTT), and online video.

Jamison says she is pleased to join the company at a pivotal time.

"The recent mergers and acquisitions will provide a huge opportunity for publishers and brands to achieve much greater value from the video ecosystem," Jamison says.

"I look forward to hitting the ground running and sharing SpotX’s exciting full stack offering with this part of the world."

Jamison joins from Oracle where she was tasked with the launch of the third-party marketplace for Oracle Data Cloud's Australia division.

She has more than 17 years industry experience in the UK and Australia in executive positions at MediaMath, AppNexus and Fairfax Media. She is also on the IAB Data Council.

SpotX co-founder and CEO Mike Shehan says the business is ready for her to lead it throughout ANZ.

"Her background and experience will allow us to accelerate business operations throughout the region, drive sales, and help increase brand awareness about SpotX’s ability to bridge the gap between linear TV and digital video," Shehan says.

SpotX country manager, Australia and New Zealand Christopher Blok has moved on from the company to pursure new opportunities.

The news comes amid the recent acquisition by SpotX's parent company RTL Group, of Yospace, a video technology company for Server-Side Ad Insertion, allowing the replacement of existing commercials from a broadcast stream with more targeted, personalised advertising.

SpotX was also merged last year with its sister company, addressable TV and HbbTV provider Smartclip.

SpotX first launched addressable TV in APAC back in 2016, when it partnered with a Korean-based TV specialist, Anypoint Media.
