Global video advertising and monetisation platform SpotX has made open source header bidding solution Prebid's latest adapter available for publishers.

Prebid will allow publishers using SpotX’s adapter to implement header bidding without commitment to any one supply-side platform or the use of proprietary wrappers.

SpotX managing director for Australia and New Zealand Ilda Jamison says adding the adapter highlights the adtech company's commitment to providing a better overall experience for the local market.

"The opportunity for local publishers to leverage SpotX’s Prebid adapter to implement header bidding demonstrates our commitment to provide efficient, unbiased monetisation potential, whilst driving an enhanced user experience," Jamison says.

Globally, SpotX chieft technology officer J. Allen Dove has also been selected to join Prebid.org’s board alongside existing members including engineering and product leaders from OpenX, Pubmatic, Rubicon Project, and Xandr.

“SpotX is excited to make our adapter available and continue to work with the growing Prebid community as a member of its Board,” Dove says.

“Our joint solution will allow us to optimize our header bidder offering for our clients with high-speed auctions and enhanced user experience.”

In addition to launching a Prebid solution, SpotX recently re-signed its agreement with JW Player for video player bidding, a solution they jointly launched in 2018.

SpotX first launched addressable TV in APAC back in 2016, when it partnered with a Korean-based TV specialist, Anypoint Media.

Jamison was appointed as MD for ANZ earlier this year, taking over from Christoper Blok who recently joined Domain as programmatic sales director.
