Dentsu Aegis Network agency MKTG Sport and Entertainment has appointed TV broadcaster Mike Lewis as general manager of operations and technology.

Lewis will lead MKTG’s stadium technology and operations across leading sports and venues around the country, including innovative LED signage, broadcast platforms and other technologies.

Lewis brings more than 25 years' experience in TV, managing broadcast operations for high-profile programs and events.

This including establishing Ten show The Project from concept to launch, delivering the broadcast of the Sochi Winter Olympics, several Commonwealth Games, the Australian Grand Prix and AFL.

“Working closely with sports of the calibre of AFL and Cricket Australia, we can drive performance as an agency across our service delivery and operations to even further enhance the experience for sports fans, and in giving advertisers ways to connect with fans,” Lewis says.

“I’m coming from a world outside of agencies, where my focus has always been on delivering great content for viewers. This experience hopefully translates very well to my new role and I’m delighted to be part of the MKTG team at a very exciting time for the agency in Australia.”

MKTG launched in Australia and New Zealand in April this year. It delivers lifestyle marketing across sports and entertainment, live and experiential, retail and shopper, enterprise, and creative and innovation.

Dentsu's previous sports marketing agency Team Epic and promotional marketing agency merged to form MKTG.
