Australian independent digital marketing agency Sparro has promoted key account director Hannah Jones to general manager.
Jones, who joined Sparro in September 2017, has played a pivotal role in shaping the agency’s culture and expanding the company’s client portfolio.
Sparro co-founder and partner Morris Bryant says appointing Jones as GM was a natural progression, especially given her passion and flair for creating a company culture that supports the growth and development of its people.
“She rounds out the senior leadership team with her empathy and passion. She was a huge turning point in our business when she joined three years ago, affecting change across all the important things - culture, hiring, product," Bryant says.
“She lives for the promise we have to clients of ‘expect more’. She’s always striving to be better and get the best out of the team. The general manager role is going to give her even more of a platform to achieve that.
“To top it off, she’s just an all round legend. We couldn’t think of a better fit for someone to take on this new position within the business."
Jones says she is looking forward to continuing working alongside the team to build out the next chapter of Sparro’s story.
“I feel incredibly privileged to work alongside such a talented team, and I'm excited to take on this new role as Sparro embarks on its next chapter," Jones says.
"Having worked with Morris and Cam while at Webjet, I knew this was a place I would love to be part of. Their honest, forward thinking, and genuine approach to running Sparro has allowed us all to truly live and breathe our values and stand by our promise to do things differently."
The appointment comes off the back of strong consecutive growth for the agency which recently added men’s fashion label, Industrie, to its books.
Despite challenging market conditions due to COVID-19, Sparro has been actively hiring and growing its team.
“As we place a stronger emphasis on developing and expanding Sparro’s core services, Hannah’s position will allow Cam and I to step back from some of the operational aspects of running the agency, and focus on delivering on our mission and vision for our next phase of growth,” Bryant says.
