The total value of new business wins by media agencies in Australia continued to fall in the 11 months to November, according to numbers aggregated by consultancy R3.
Between January and November, the estimated year-to-date revenue was $US17.6 million for the top 20 media agencies, down more than half on the same period in 2019.
The number of wins at 112 was also behind the 163 recorded by R3 in 2019.
Spark Foundry was ahead of the pack in Australia in the media agency pitch league of 2020 calculated for those 11 months of the year, according to the analysis by R3.
Calculations for November show the Publicis Groupe media agency at first place in the new business league with year-to-date win revenue at $US5.4 million.
Recent wins are listed as Clarins, Westpac, Silverseas Cruises and My Muscle Chef.
As the year closed, the agency reported it had been appointed by Clarins in Australia to manage its media strategy, planning and buying, following a competitive pitch.
Second in the league, calculated from January to November, is PHD, followed by Initiative, Starcom, OMG, Zenith and Carat.
Creative agencies are holding their own, recording a combined $US86.3 million in wins, up 8.9% on 2019.
Heading the creative agency league is DDB with win revenue of $US16.3 million.
Next is Cummins & Partners, followed by TBWA, Isobar and Thinkerbell.
The R3 New Business League has been compiled since 2002 using data supplied by agencies.
