Snoop hands gold to Publicis

The annual Publicis Groupe video clip from CEO Arthur Sadoun features rapper Snoop Dogg.

The official Paris Olympic hype man is a surprise guest to help the global advertising group claim a title.

However, the description of Publicis as a holding company appears to confuse Snoop.

“What's Publicis holding? I don't know,” he said.

“But what I do know is that Americans, Brits and French have been competing to see which holding company is the top dog. And this year, Publicis has overtaken them all.

“Les Numeros One."

Publicis has overtaken WPP, the UK-based company, long touted as the world’s largest advertising group, for market capitalisation.

WPP’s current market capitalisation is GBP 9.32 billion. Publicis is Euros 25.90 billion (GBP 21.45 billion GBP).

WPP is guiding full year like-for-like revenue less pass-through costs of -1% to 0%.

Publicis Groupe upgraded its full year growth guidance to 5.5%, up from 5%, after a “strong” September quarter with active account pitches.

The France-based global advertising company posted 5.8% organic growth for the September quarter as it reported continuing market share gains, and is expecting momentum to continue in the December quarter.
