Singapore tourism campaign in Sydney via chef Nelly Robinson

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has teamed up with Sydney-based chef Nelly Robinson to bring a dining experience to NEL Restaurant later this month, showcasing a reimagined take on Singapore’s eclectic and innovative culinary scene.

Kicking off March 29 and running until May 27, A Taste of Singapore is an 11-course degustation experience which will offer Australian diners the chance to reignite their passion for the Lion City.

Nelly Robinson, owner and chef patron of NEL Restaurant, said: “Singapore is one of my favourite culinary cities in the world. The diverse range of flavours and cooking styles that have been passionately honed by local chefs over many decades is what keeps me going back for inspiration time and time again.

"This bespoke menu is my homage to that and I hope it will give Aussie diners a tantalising taste of what they could experience on their next trip to Singapore.”

Stephanie Yong, area director Oceania at Singapore Tourism Board, said: “Singapore is well-known for our innovative and adventurous approach to food, so partnering with Chef Nelly, who has a similar culinary philosophy, was a natural fit.

"Aussies can expect to be taken on an adventurous and unexpected food journey that reimagines the vibrant and diverse flavours of our City in Nature.”

As a special treat, guests who make bookings for the first week of the limited-time menu will also have the opportunity to experience the Garden City Sling, a cocktail prepared by visiting mixologists from Singapore bar Hopscotch, also known for its distinctive twists on familiar Singapore tastes.

STB has produced a custom video asset showcasing Chef Nelly’s research trip to Singapore, highlighting the inspiring local tastemakers, iconic flavours and traditional cooking techniques that influenced his bespoke menu.

The campaign will be promoted across STB’s social channels, paid social media and via a content partnership with Concrete Playground.
