A Big Bang Theory double-episode once again did the trick for Channel Nine, while a switch in strategy from Channel Seven appears to have paid dividends.
The two Big Bang Theory episodes pulled in over 1.2 million metro viewers according to the OzTAM overnight ratings, while 1.9 million people stuck around for the repeat episode shown straight after.
However perhaps the bigger story of the night was the performance of Seven's Nabbed and Highway Patrol.
The two shows were drafted in to replace a Monday showing of The Big Adventure, which has been been cut back to one showing a week.
Last week The Big Adventure posted 643,000 for its 7.30pm timeslot but Nabbed and Highway Patrol outdid it posting numbers of 762,000 and 771,000 respectively. This is a 19% uplift on last Monday's episode of The Big Adventure.
More broadly, it was a quiet night for non-news TV with nine of the top 12 shows on the schedule being news programs.
The ABC in particular rode the news wave to a 22% share, meaning it was within reach of Nine's 27.9% and Seven's 27.5%.
Meanwhile Network Ten posted an 18.5% share while SBS got a 4.2% share.
The highlights for Ten included Family Feud and The Project, while the final episode of social-facing Party Tricks pulled in 529,000. It premiered with a 710,000 audience so saw a 25.5% drop over the run of the show.
However, Ten will be hoping for a push from time shifting over the next week and the overall Twitter figures for the show such as the number of followers, trending, and reach figures for the show have started to drift in from Ten with the show trending within the top three nationally overnight.
