Survey 2 radio ratings results from GfK, the official provider of radio ratings for Commercial Radio Australia (CRA):
2GB's share was up 0.5 to 14.3. Breakfast was steady at 18.9.
Overall, 3AW was down 0.8 to 15.1. For breakfast, the station was down to 18.9 from a high of 22.5.
Greg Byrnes, Nine Radio’s Head of Content: “2GB and 3AW are well established as the trusted voices of their cities but in this survey they've managed to attract even more listeners.
"Ben Fordham's performance is particularly impressive given the 2GB breakfast program has never had this many people tuning in each morning. Across the network audience numbers are up significantly in the key demos and that will only increase as more Australians turn to talk ahead of a May 21 election."
ARN’s Chief Content Officer Duncan Campbell: "Today’s results are a further demonstration of our team’s focus on understanding their audience and delivering locally relevant content that resonates. It takes a massive team effort for us to retain #1 positions in three out of five metro markets and to experience growth in every market while also continuing to grow the iHeartPodcast Network.
"The engagement with the breadth of content we’ve delivered in this survey period from Kyle & Jackie O’s ‘Set You Up for Life’ to KIIS 101’s broadcast of Shane Warne’s memorial service and the network’s adapted programming in response to the emergency flood situations reinforces the continued relevance of radio today.”
