SCA’S LiSTNR today announced the appointment of Nic McClure to the newly created role of senior executive producer – LiSTNR Original Podcasts.
McClure will develop and produce new original podcasts and oversee news-based podcasts such as Your Morning Agenda and The Briefing.
She will also play a role with onboarding new podcast producers and working with the current LiSTNR Original Podcast producer team.
McClure will report to Sam Cavanagh, LiSTNR’s head of news and entertainment original podcasts and Jennifer Goggin, LiSTNR’s head of specialty and feature podcasts.
Nic McClure said: “While audiences are consuming digital audio at an accelerated pace, I’m really excited to be a part of SCA’s digital transformation myself.
"To be creating new and compelling content and helping develop our talented LiSTNR Original Podcast team with (general manager digital audio) Grant (Tothill), Sam and Jen, well, what a force to be reckoned with.”
McClure is an experienced, award-winning producer and industry specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the Australian radio industry.
She began her radio career with SCA in 1996 and has since led number one rating shows and teams such as the Kyle and Jackie O Show, Kate, Tim and Marty, Merrick & Rosso and the Hot 30 Countdown with Ugly Phil.
In March 2020, McClure returned to SCA as an executive producer for on-demand audio, overseeing the development and launch of The Briefing with Tom Tilley podcast, which has recently celebrated its first birthday, becoming one of Australia’s most listened to news-based podcasts.
