SCA chief content officer, Dave Cameron, has announced that Ewan Giles has been appointed to the newly created role of head of sport content – Live and On Demand, as the company expands its sports content on Triple M and LiSTNR.
In the new role, Giles will add on-demand sports content to his remit, following SCA’s Australian-first multi-year podcast co-collaboration agreement to develop audio on demand concepts for the AFL, among other sports content on LiSTNR.
He will work closely with the Triple M broadcast and LiSTNR content teams to execute SCA’s total sport strategy, as well as overseeing Triple M Melbourne and Victoria’s Rush Hour with JB & Billy Drive show and Saturday’s Dead Set Legends show.
The Sport vertical will have a new structure under Giles, with Michael James becoming senior manager – Sport (Live and On Demand) to align and execute SCA’s sports content on air and on demand, including LiSTNR original podcasts, The Howie Games, Rusty’s Garage and On Her Game with Sam Squiers.
James joined SCA in 2014 as a digital content producer and has developed Triple M’s social media strategy, produced Triple M AFL Footy and was Executive Producer on Triple M’s Hot Breakfast.
Dave Cameron said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for sport at SCA, with multiple year broadcast rights agreements with the AFL, NRL and Cricket Australia, as well as our compelling suite of on demand products, including Australia’s No. 1 sports podcast*, The Howie Games. Our on demand output will only continue to increase and Ewan’s promotion is well deserved and I can’t wait to see what he brings to our leading sports content slate.”
