Foxtel has appointed Saatchi & Saatchi as its strategic advertising and creative agency.

Foxtel chief marketing and sales officer Kieren Cooney says the decision comes following two years of building new momentum with major innovations from the brand.

“These innovations are just the start of providing our customers with a completely new experience of Foxtel and giving Australians even more reasons to choose us," Cooney says.

“Now is the right time to bring all this to life in our brand and we are very pleased to appoint Saatchi & Saatchi as our brand and advertising partner."

The account was previously held by DDB, who was added to an evolving agency roster in 2018.

Cooney thanked the agency for the work it had produced for Foxtel over the last couple of years.

“In making the change, we also want to acknowledge the great work that DDB have produced for us in recent years including the iconic 'I want it all' campaign," he says.

"While now is the right time for a change, the team at DDB have been a great partner for us and we thank them for their contribution.”

Saatchi & Saatchi Australia CEO Anthony Gregorio says working with Foxtel is an "honour", welcoming the account to the agency.

“We feel like they’re coming home, as our previous work for Fox Sports is something we’re still proud of to this day," Gregorio says.

"Their vision for the future is exciting and we are delighted to be part of it.”

Saatchi & Saatchi’s appointment follows a multi-agency agency review conducted by Foxtel over recent months.

The review comes off the back of a restructure of Foxtel's sales and marketing operating model resulting in a number of structural changes and leadership appointments for sales, creative, brand, media and planning.

Each new leadership appointment will report in directly to Foxtel's chief marketing and sales officer Kieren Cooney.

The changes follow a series of high-profile exits by some of the company's top marketers including, director, content marketing, Jo McAlister,  group director, marketing, John Casey, advertising sales and brand partnerships GM Andrew Mulready, head of sport marketing Adam Ballesty and CMO Andy Lark.

Carly Loder, the chief sales and marketing officer at Foxtel’s Kayo also departed in July this year.
