Journalist Robert Ovadia has dropped legal action against Seven Network.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported in June that Ovadia was dismissed following alleged inappropriate behaviour.

Ovadia rejected the allegations and claimed Seven engaged in adverse action against him, breached his contract and caused him intentional harm.

A Seven spokesperson confirmed to AdNews that Ovadia has withdrawn and discontinued the proceedings he began in the Federal Court last month.

"This was a unilateral decision by Robert Ovadia and has involved no payment, settlement or concession by Seven to Mr Ovadia," the spokesperson said.

His lawyer John Laxon told the Sydney Morning Herald he was discontinuing the action for personal reasons.
