Amazon is reportedly cutting hundreds of jobs from its content streaming and studio operations.
A number of news sites reported an internal Amazon note on the layoffs to “prioritize our investments for the long-term success of our business”.
"We've identified opportunities to reduce or discontinue investments in certain areas while increasing our investment and focus on content and product initiatives that deliver the most impact," Mike Hopkins, senior vice president of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, told employees in a note seen by Reuters.
The report came at the same time Amazon’s Twitch announced cutting 500 roles.
Amazon last year started the largest layoffs in its history, with more than 27,000 jobs going at the giant online retailer.
