Billionaire businessman Clive Palmer is planning to launch an 'Australian Facebook' called Ausface.

The move comes as social media giant Meta is ending its deals to pay Australian publishers for their premium content and is shutting the Facebook news tab.

Palmer registered the Ausface trademark last month, in which Meta challenged and lost the case.

Palmer’s company Mineralogy faced off with Meta lawyers but the decision-maker in the case sided with Palmer.

“It’s similar to what you’ve got on Facebook, but about Australian things, for Australians. It won’t be censored, whether it’s left or right or whatever — everyone can put what they want on there,” Palmer told news publication Crikey

The social media network will be targeted towards all Australians.
