Live sport, after being sidelined during the pandemic lockdown earlier in the year, returned with ratings strength.
The ratings year ended with Seven's AFL grand final pulling a national audience of 3,864,000 for the Richmond-Geelong contest.
Next was Nine's NRL grand final at 2,985,000.
Among entertainment programs, Nine's The Block - Winner hit 2,371,000, combining both metro and regional audiences.
Nine's Lego Masters winner announcement was next with 2,234,000.
