The Zoo Republic has been appointed strategic and communications agency for Australia’s premiere professional wrestling promotion (PWA).
The Zoo Republic has been engaged to strengthen the PWA’s brand positioning, identity and presence to support its growth locally and internationally
Steve Teulan, founder of PWA said: “It’s been a tough few years for live entertainment but despite market conditions the PWA has continued to grow. With no internal marketing function we had reached a point where continued growth would not be successful without a solid strategy and some help with our sales, PR, sponsorship and general marketing comms. The Zoo took a deep dive into the world of wrestling and impressed us with not only their ability to wrap their head around the sport, but also their genuine passion for what we are doing”.
Edward Nethery, creative director at The Zoo Republic said: “This is by far and away one of the most fun engagements we have had in our 23 year history as an independent creative agency. PWA is pure entertainment that suspends reality in the most engaging way. Full contact, theatrical storytelling - what a combo! While there will always be detractors, I challenge any untrained person to get thrown off the top rope and walk away!”
Tully Mansfield, national sales manager at Wayward Brewing said: “I’ve been a huge wrestling fan for years, and after attending a few PWA shows I was blown away to see an Australian wrestling promotion delivering such a high level product. I knew right away it was something that I wanted Wayward to be involved with - not only was a partnership an absolute no-brainer from a business perspective, it’s amazing to be able to help support the future of Australian wrestling."
