Publicis Australia, whose local numbers for 2023 and 2024 have been delayed, is about to see a substantial lift in revenue in the local business.

The local arm of the France-based global group has been taking gongs for growth in its media buying side.

The Media Agency Billings and Market Share report for 2023, by COMvergence, showed Publicis takes the lead for yearly growth at 21% following significant account wins.

In Australia, Publicis ranked third in terms of billings at $US805 million but its individual media agencies did well, winning major accounts during the year.

Zenith picked up Modibodi, Superloop, Adobe and Temple & Webster.  Spark Foundry grabbed Cancer Council and Starcom TPG Telecom.

Zenith grew billings by a third to $US293 million and Spark Foundry by almost a quarter to $291 million.

According to a filing made last month to corporate regulator ASIC, the consolidated revenue (and not billings) of Publicis and related entities was $105.873 million in 2022, the latest year to be reported, and a rise of just $263,000 from the year before.

Retainer fees came in at $47.69 million and project fees $51.93 million

Profit was a little more than $7 million, up from #.1 million the year before.

The number of staff was 551 and employee costs $68.67 million.

Total assets exceed liabilities by $74.35 million.

Insiders say the numbers for 2023 and 2024 are being compiled, adding acquired businesses.

But the big jump will be the 2025 numbers when Atomic 212° is added to revenue numbers.

"Our media practice in ANZ has been on an incredible trajectory, experiencing growth and momentum across all metrics," said Michael Rebelo, CEO, Publicis Groupe ANZ, when announcing the deal to buy the big independent media agency.

The global group closed 2024 with full year organic growth of 5.8%, overall revenue of €16.03 billion and net revenue of almost €14 billion. Asia Pacific posted 5% organic growth, led by India and Australia.
