Prime Video Australia reveals content slate for 2023

Prime Video Australia has revealed its Australian content slate for 2023.

The announcement includes six new Australian Amazon Originals and first looks at three scripted Original series: Class of ’07, Deadloch, and The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.

Prime Video will launch a record nine new Australian Amazon Originals next year.

The content was unveiled at an event, Prime Video Showcase: An Evening with our Producers. 

The six new unscripted titles announced during the evening are Hot Potato: The Story of The Wiggles, produced by Augusto, Frog Productions, SAM Content; Dance Life, produced by EQMedia, Biscuit Tin Productions, and Creative Bubble; The Defenders, produced by Sweetshop & Green; Hugh van Cuylenburg G.E.M, a live special produced by Princess Pictures; and five Australian stand-up specials, by comedians Joel Creasey, Rhys Nicholson, Dave Hughes, Tommy Little, and Lizzy Hoo, from a variety of production teams. 

A second season of The Test was also announced, in collaboration with Cricket Australia.

Since 2019, Prime Video has commissioned 23 Amazon Original series in Australia—The Test S1-S2, Making Their Mark, a series of 10 stand-up comedy specials by some of Australia’s best comedians, LOL: Last One Laughing Australia with Rebel Wilson, Back to the Rafters, Luxe Listings Sydney S1 - S3, The Moth Effect, Head Above Water, award-winning feature-length documentary Burning, Kick Like Tayla, Warriors On The Field, and upcoming Deadloch, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Class of ’07, andthe first Australian Amazon Original movie Five Blind Dates. At today’s Prime Video Showcase, Prime Video announced the new Australian Amazon Original commissions Hot Potato: The Story of the Wiggles, Dance Life, The Defenders, and Hugh van Cuylenburg: G.E.M, along with a series of five stand-up comedy specials.
