Triton Digital's Podcast Ranker for May 2024 has been released, with Hamish & Andy retaining the spot in both the Top 100 Ranker and Top 100 All-Australian Ranker.
The comedy duo tallied 970,415 monthly listeners and close to 1.9 million monthly downloads.
Casefile True Crime remained in second with 778,253 monthly listeners, while the ABC'S ABC News Top Stories held at third with 578,082 monthly listeners.
Mamamia Out Loud finished in fourth with 553,626 monthly listeners, while Shameless stayed in fifth place with 520,202 monthly listeners.
ARN/iHeartMedia, LiSTNR (SCA) and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) remained at first, second and third in the Top Publishers rankings. ARN/iHeartMedia led the way in monthly listeners with 4,645,361 to go along with over 15.5 million monthly downloads, while the ABC totalled 24,241,358 monthly downloads, the highest for May.
ARN's head of digital audio, Corey Layton said as Australia's #1 podcast publisher, the engagement ARN's slate continues to provide listeners and brands is incredible.
"As the home to half of Australia's top 10 podcasts, a huge congratulations to our partners and the entire team that continue to produce content that the nation is seeking out," he said.
SCA executive head LiSTNR podcasts, Grant Tothill, said it's great to see such strong growth from its locally co-produced and created podcasts.
"Hamish & Andy grew their audience month on month. It's A Lot with Abbie Chatfield, KICPOD with Laura Henshaw and Steph Claire Smith, The Happy Hour with Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott, Darling, Shine! with Chloe Fisher and Ellidy Pullin, and Do you F*king Mind? with Alexis Fernandez show that this group of content creators are starting to really connect with under 35 women, growing their audiences and communities," he said.
"To see the growth of The Briefing and Crime Insiders is credit to the team in the competitive News and Crime genres. Today's results reaffirm LiSTNR's investment in Australian podcast creators offering advertisers local voices and communities to drive their brand messages.
