Triton Digital’s Podcast Ranker for October has been released, with Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime displacing Hamish & Andy in the number one spot both the Top 100 Ranker and Top 100 All-Australian Ranker.

After seven consecutive months atop the Rankers, LiSTNR (SCA)’s Hamish & Andy fell to second place with 941,049 listeners. Casefile True Crime racked up 993,418 monthly listeners and over 2.9 million monthly downloads, the most for all podcasts in October.

In third place was ARN/iHeartMedia’s Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne with 479,601 monthly listeners.

It was one of four ARN podcasts in the top 10, with The Kyle & Jackie O Show in fifth, Stuff You Should Know in sixth and The Imperfects in eighth; all four ARN podcasts in the top 10 moved up a spot from September’s rankings.

Schwartz Media’s 7am took out the fourth spot with just over 400,000 monthly listeners, while News Corp Australia’s true crime podcast Shandee's Story rose a staggering 18 places from last month’s rankings to round out the top 10, notching over 273,000 monthly listeners.

The Top Publishers rankings remain unchanged from September, with ARN/iHeartMedia in first, LiSTNR (SCA) in second and Audioboom in third. ARN/iHeartMedia led the pack with over 3.7 million monthly listeners and over 19.3 million monthly downloads.

Corey Layton, ARN's head of digital audio, said: “Today marks a significant milestone for the iHeartPodcast Network, holding the #1 Publisher spot for 30 consecutive rankers. Our incredible slate of podcasts continues to engage Australian audiences, leading to our highest ever downloads.”

The Ranker provides insight into the Top 100 Podcasts as well as the Top 10 Publishers in Australia from 1 October through 31 October, 2022, as measured by Triton’s Podcast Metrics measurement service.
