AdNews wraps up the biggest pitch news and wins from the last fortnight.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia is pitching creative

Mitsubishi Motors Australia has pitched its creative account, AdNews revealed.

Agencies have already been invited to tender for the contract.

The incumbent is creative agency Richards Rose, which has been working on the account since 2016. In that time, the agency has focused on Mitsubishi's SUV offering. 

PHD reappointed to Volkswagen global media account

Omnicom media agency PHD has been re-appointed to the Volkswagen global media account, after a lengthy pitch, AdNews confirmed.

The account is said to be worth £2bn ($3bn AUD).

The win includes Australia and over 30 other markets, seeing the agency servicing multiple brands such as VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Porsche, Bentley, commercial vehicles and its truck business MAN.

Special wins IGA pitch

Independent supermarket group IGA has appointed Special agency of record across brand strategy and design, advertising and communications following a competitive pitch led by consultancy TrinityP3. 

Incumbent The Core Agency has held the account since 2019, releasing its first work for the brand in October of that year. 

The IGA network has more than 1,150 independent family-owned businesses in regional and metro areas across Australia 

The Royals wins Bega's Dairy Farmers pitch

Diversified food and drinks company Bega Group has appointed The Royals as its creative agency for the Dairy Farmers brand portfolio, following a competitive pitch.

Starcom Australia, for 18 years, has handled Bega Group's media account.

Madclarity managed the pitch, involving three agencies.

Atomic 212° wins Darrell Lea media account

Independent media agency Atomic 212° has been appointed to the Darrell Lea account, effective this month.

Atomic 212° will be responsible for media planning and buying, performance marketing, programmatic and social media, working closely with the Darrell Lea marketing team.

Hello Social wins Lynx

Independent integrated agency Hello Social has won Unilever Australia’s Lynx creative account following a review.

Hello will lead a re-investment in the Lynx brand as it looks to launch a Fine Fragrance Collection in Australia and New Zealand.

Unilever head of media and content Alison Holland said Hello’s unique capabilities and cultural perspective really impressed the team.

Claxon wins Wideline pitch

Full-service independent agency Claxon has won a remit encompassing strategy, media and creative for Australian-owned windows and doors brand Wideline Group, following a competitive pitch.

Claxon is charged with delivering an omni channel approach for Wideline via its proprietary brand performance methodology, to support the Group’s plans to increase its national footprint.

Work on strategy development has already begun with creative expected in market in Q3.

Claxon wins media and creative for Celebrity Ink

Claxon has been appointed as media and creative agency of record for tattoo brand Celebrity Ink.

Claxon’s remit encompasses all media, creative, experience and data, with an aim to drive increased customer engagement and loyalty across existing studios, while supporting future franchisee interest in Australia and in the UK and US markets.

Carat WA wins Summit Homes Group

Carat Western Australia will handle media strategy, planning and buying services for building renovating and developing company Summit Homes Group, after winning a competitive pitch process.

The account was previously held by Match & Wood.

Summit Homes marketing manager Alicia Butturini said the company was impressed with the quality of the proposition and the demonstrated experience shared.

QMS wins tender to manage Vicinity Centres' digital billboards

QMS has won the competitive tender to manage select external digital large format billboards for retail property group Vicinity Centres in Victoria and Tasmania.

The appointment covers two premium shopping centre locations in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs – Box Hill Central and The Glen – as well as Eastlands shopping centre in Hobart’s Rosny Park, which will be home to QMS’ first digital billboard in Tasmania.
