Honda forms in-house marketing team with Howatson+Co agency partner
Japanese automotive manufacturer Honda has established an In-House Agency (IHA), with a streamlined agency roster after a competitive pitch.
Howatson+Company is the manufacturer's new media and creative agency partner, across automotive and motorcycles and power equipment, which will work in a hybrid model alongside the new IHA.
Honda's media incumbent Zenith did not re-pitch for the account after holding it since 2001. AdNews can also confirm Leo Burnett did not pitch for the creative account.
Western Australian Electoral Commission is pitching creative services
The Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) is pitching its creative advertising services.
The term of the contract is three years, with the tender closing on May 30.
The commission requires a qualified and experienced contractor to deliver strategic and creative advertising services for the 2025 State Election and other ad hoc electoral campaigns, the tender states.
Dig wins Bendigo Bank and launches new work
Bendigo Bank has partnered with independent creative agency Dig to launch its first brand campaign in years, designed to evolve the ‘better big bank’ and reinforce it as a challenger brand.
Dig was appointed as the lead creative agency after a competitive pitch in 2023.
Dig founder Paul Rhodes said Bendigo Bank has an ethos very much aligned to that of Dig.
The Media Store wins Melbourne Royal Show pitch
Independent media agency The Media Store has won the Melbourne Royal Show media account following a competitive pitch.
The Media Store’s remit includes media strategy, planning, and buying across all channels as well as partnership and contra management.
Sunday Gravy wins Ego Pharmaceuticals pitch
Australian-owned Ego Pharmaceuticals has appointed independent creative agency Sunday Gravy, following a competitive pitch.
Ego produces more than 150 products, including brands QV Skincare, SunSense Sunscreen, Aqium Hand Sanitiser, Elucent, MOOV and Azclear.
The incumbent is indie agency Channel T, appointed as brand and creative partner in 2020.
Special wins toss in cricket pitch
Independent creative agency Special has won the Cricket Australia pitch for the Men & Women’s International Series.
Special has been tasked with creating a unifying idea for the international series that not only drums up excitement but enhances its role as a must-attend event during the summer.
Ryvalmedia Sydney wins RedBalloon account
Ryvalmedia Sydney has been appointed to the media account of experience marketplace RedBalloon.
The agency was engaged to plan and buy the RedBalloon Christmas and Mother’s Day campaigns and has now been awarded full media remit. The appointment is effective immediately.
Thinkerbell wins Hort Innovation pitch
Hort Innovation, a not-for-profit research, development and marketing hub for the Australian horticulture sector, has appointed Thinkerbell as its integrated agency partner.
Thinkerbell, which won the tender through a competitive pitch process via TrinityP3, will utilise its Measured Magic (marketing sciences meets hardcore creativity) approach to build market share both locally and globally for Hort Innovation’s suite of 24 different Australian produce categories; including Australian Bananas, Aussie Apples and Australian Avocados.
Molasses wins Marnong Estate pitch
Marnong Estate has appointed FMCG brand and design agency Molasses to reposition and redesign its wine offering.
Molasses, which won the business following a competitive pitch, will manage the brand positioning, tone and packaging design for a new multi-tiered range of more than 20 varietals, including Marnong’s Montepulciano, Fiano and Shiraz varieties.
JCDecaux retains Sydney Airport
Sydney Airport has reappointed JCDecaux as its exclusive media partner for its advertising following a competitive tender process.
The new agreement starts July 1 and runs to 2029. It will mean a significant upgrade of the media estate across Sydney Airport’s terminals, car parks and external road network, with the latter aimed at maximising the potential of the Sydney Gateway road project opening later this year.
QMS wins The Hills Shire Council
Digital outdoor company QMS has won a tender with The Hills Shire Council, adding two new digital assets to its Sydney network.
The appointment, which followed a competitive tender process, is part of QMS’ investment in the expansion of its NSW portfolio, which includes the premium digital City of Sydney street furniture network.
