AdNews wraps up the biggest pitch news and wins from the fortnight.

Volkswagen extends DDB's creative contract

German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen has extended its global creative agency contract with DDB for three years, including Australia, AdNews confirmed.

The Omnicom creative agency has held the account for six decades.

DDB’s contract with VW ended in 2023, but the agency was given two six-month extensions prior to the announcement.

MYOB appoints iProspect media agency of record

Dentsu's iProspect has been appointed by business management platform MYOB as SME media agency of record.

iProspect will support media strategy, channel planning, digital consulting and media buying.

iProspect managing director Marcelle Gomez said the agency had started working with MYOB on a project basis.

Dentsu Creative wins Adobe pitch

Adobe has appointed Dentsu Creative lead agency for its Digital Media Business (DMe) following a competitive pitch.

The agency will work closely with Tag Worldwide and Adobe to “redefine advertising” by driving personalisation at scale through a generative AI powered content supply chain.

It will create the company’s first “Glocal” go-to-market model, designed to drive relevance, effectiveness and efficiency across the Americas, EMEA, APAC and Japan.

Revlon ​g​oes to Spark

Personal care product company Revlon has appointed Publicis' Spark Foundry Australia as its media agency, AdNews revealed.

The incumbent was independent agency Affinity.

The brand's creative agency is independent Emotive and its PR agency Stark Matthews.

Houston Group wins pitch for Suburban Land Agency account

Houston Group has won the ACT’s Suburban Land Agency’s account for brand and creative strategy, following a competitive pitch process.

After an in-depth process, Houston Group has come out on top, based on brand transformation experience and leading place making capability across some of Australia’s largest property organisations, such as Lendlease, TOGA Group, The Agency and 151 Property. 

M&C Saatchi wins Jaecoo pitch in Australia

Automotive manufacturer Chery Motors has appointed M&C Saatchi to launch the Jaecoo brand of SUVs in Australia. 

M&C Saatchi’s work for the China-based group will be via a bespoke team across creative, PR, influencer and social, launching with the J7 in early 2025 and further models after that.

The J7 is an all-wheel drive SUV, with competitors such as Subaru Forester and Jeep Compass.

VML wins Cockburn Gateway and Belmont Forum account

VML has been appointed agency of record for Perth’s Cockburn Gateway and Belmont Forum shopping centres, both owned by Perron Group and managed by JLL WA.

VML will work with the marketing team to develop a brand strategy and create a distinctive creative presence for both centres.

This includes brand campaigns that showcase each centre, as well as developing creative content for seasonal and tactical campaigns.

Orange Line wins Skyscanner APAC SEO account

Independent digital marketing agency Orange Line has announced a partnership with global travel app Skyscanner.

Orange Line’s immediate remit is to improve Skyscanner’s SEO in APAC and follows the agency’s previous SEO work with the brand.

Orange Line head of organic Bruno Rodriguez said the agency is thrilled to be re-engaged by Skyscanner.

10 Feet Tall wins Happy Happy Foods

Plant-based beverage company Happy Happy Foods has appointed Melbourne-based creative shop 10 Feet Tall as its agency of record ahead of an Australian launch.

Happy Happy Foods is about to launch of its flagship product, Happy Happy Soy Boy, in Coles supermarkets across Australia.

10 Feet Tall will use its "creativity that means business" approach to blend strategic insights with creative execution aligns perfectly with Happy Happy Foods' mission to offer products that not only taste good but do good.

Local Threads Brand Solutions appointed by Mars Performance

Aftermarket car accessory and premium parts provider Mars Performance has chosen brand development agency Local Threads Brand Solutions (LTBS) to manage its digital strategy and implementation. 

LTBS will manage Mars Performance's marketing including digital marketing, content creation and strategic outreach to amplify its presence in a highly competitive market. 

Rocket Agency wins URBNSURF pitch

Australian surf park company URBNSURF has appointed Rocket Agency as its digital agency following a highly competitive bidding process.

Rocket will take the reins on all performance marketing and digital media channels as the URBNSURF seeks to expand its customer base and establish the brand as a go-to destination for both beginner and experienced surfers.
