It’s hard to keep track of the account wins and losses across the industry. To help you keep on top of who has what, here’s a wrap of the pitches from the week.
Choice
Independent digital marketing agency Sparro has won the paid search account for consumer advocacy group Choice. The agency will work closely with Choice's in-house team to support the brand’s growth ambitions. Choice head of marketing Steve Connolly says the agency presented a “clear strategy”. Choice joins the agency's roster of clients which includes longtime partners Webjet, Catch, TAFE NSW, Destination NSW, Estee Lauder Companies, Seafolly and Domino’s Pizza.
Ancestry
Family history and consumer genomics business Ancestry has appointed Red Havas as its public relations agency in Australia, following a competitive pitch. Red Havas is charged with developing and delivering an ongoing public relations and influencer campaign, built on a strategy to ingrain Ancestry’s brand into the Australian cultural narrative. With a remit that relies on having strong local market insights across different communities, Red Havas built a specialist team from its Sydney and Melbourne offices. The agency will work closely with Ancestry’s teams in Australia and the UK.
Fossil
Accessories brand Fossil has appointed Haystac as its PR account. The agency will handle the brand’s PR for ongoing media relations, influencer content series and celebrity ambassador program. “They fully understood what makes our audience tick, how we can connect with them in an authentic way, and delivered a unique strategy that was both creative and results-focused,” says Fossil Australia managing director Ives Palmer. The win extends Fossil’s relationship with the Dentsu Aegis Network, with Vizeum currently its media agency of record.
Upbeat
Creative communications agency Mr. Carter has been appointed to the nutrition brand Upbeat for Australia and New Zealand. Mr. Carter is now responsible for the new food company’s market launch, including a national ambassador program, content creation, out of home marketing, PR and strategic counsel. Charli Walters, Upbeat creator and MD, says the agency’s “unrivalled” experience in the wellness sector and understanding of consumer-first activations made them stand out. Mr. Carter has previously worked with brands such as Adidas, Nike and Stylerunner.
Clear Skincare
Clear skincare has began working with PR agency Alt/Shift on a project-basis. The skincare clinic, which has more than 50 offices across Australia and New Zealand, appointed Alt/Shift to help drive awareness of its clinics and trials of its products. “We were impressed by Alt/Shift’s strategic approach to our brief, and how we want to position our brand,” says Clear Skincare GM Tamsyn Alley. “We feel their deep understanding of the media landscape, backed by their enthusiasm for the brand will positively shape the next phase of the Clear Skincare story.”
