AdNews wraps up the biggest pitch news and wins from the last fortnight.

McDonald's is pitching CRM

McDonald's Australia is pitching its Customer Relationship Management account, AdNews revealed.

The incumbent is digital agency Digitas.

The fast-food chain's CRM account is focused on customer relationship strategy, insights, measurement and execution.

Great Wall Motors' double pitch near to close

Chinese-owned Ute and SUV maker Great Wall Motors is pitching both its media and creative accounts, AdNews can reveal.

While the pitch is still ongoing, the brand is close to a final decision, insiders say.

Creative incumbent The Hallway won the account after a competitive pitch in 2021. Prior the account was with Havas Melbourne for three years.

Media incumbent is Nunn Media.

The General Store wins Chupa Chups creative account

Confectionery brand Chupa Chups has appointed The General Store its lead creative agency for Australia and New Zealand, AdNews can reveal.

The agency has initially been tasked to develop an integrated, above the line, social media and influencer campaign to target Gen Z consumers.

Independent agencies snubbed by Canberra over master media account

A proposal by independent media agencies to form a consortium to service the federal government's master media agency account has been rejected, AdNews revealed.

The IMAA (Independent Media Agencies Australia) has been working with an Australian-owned third party management consultancy on a joint submission for the federal government's tender.

The proposal would see IMAA members have the chance to share servicing the $163 million account.

Accenture wins Tourism Australia pitch

Tourism Australia has appointed The Monkeys, Accenture Song and Droga5 as a panel of agencies to provide integrated global creative and digital services, following a comprehensive tender process.

Accenture beat out Publicis Groupe and Clemenger Group which were also shortlisted for the pitch, as well as incumbent M&C Saatchi, which partnered with independent hot shop Howatson+Company.

The Accenture panel will service Tourism Australia’s creative and digital services for five years from July 2024, structured as a three-year initial contract with options for two further one-year extensions.

Tourism Tasmania pitches creative account

Tourism Tasmania has opened its creative account to pitch.

The state tourism body is calling for agencies to submit for its lead creative agency contract, with the successful candidate to deliver creative and strategic work that connects travellers emotionally and culturally with the state to drive visitation.

The contract will be for up to seven years, with an initial three-year term starting in February 2025, followed by two optional two-year extensions.

M&C Saatchi wins Lifeblood pitch

M&C Saatchi has been appointed Australian Red Cross Lifeblood’s creative behaviour change agency, following a competitive pitch.  

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood is funded by Australian governments to provide blood, plasma, transplantation and biological products.

Five by Five wins Hydralyte pitch

Independent creative agency Five by Five Global has won a competitive pitch for Care Pharma's Hydralyte.

The work starts with an integrated campaign.

72andSunny was appointed in 2022 to create a platform and campaign to launch a new product range for Hydralyte.

Media planning and buying remains with This is Flow.

I.M.A wins Royal Wolf pitch

B2B marketing consultancy I.M.A has been appointed brand marketing agency of record for Royal Wolf across Australia and New Zealand, following a competitive pitch. 

I.M.A’s remit covers all strategy, creative development, website experience and social media, signage and sales tools. The scope also includes a brand refresh, led by I.M.A creative director Andrew Bex.

ADMATIC wins Royal Wolf ANZ media pitch

Full service media agency ADMATIC has been appointed to lead media strategy, planning, and buying for Royal Wolf ANZ, 
following a competitive pitch.

Royal Wolf is Australasia's largest provider of shipping container hire, sales and specialised modification.
