Women in Media’s national conference returned to Bond University after being postponed for two years and sold out in record time.

The Women in Media conference welcomed delegates from around the country – as well as a few from overseas – to celebrate the industry and inspire opportunities for a fresh perspective on media women’s career progress and empowerment.

Emcee Kay McGrath officially opened the national conference followed by an Acknowledgement of Country from Professor Keitha Dunstan who is a proud descendant of the Mandandanji people of south-west Queensland.

Some speakers from the event included Sunrise’s Natalie Barr, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and Australian Financial Review’s Adele Ferguson, Nine’s Kylie Blucher, news.com.au’s Editor-in-Chief Lisa Muxworthy, The Australian’s Virginia Tapscott and Glynis Traill-Nash, ABC’s Leigh Sales and Lisa Millar, Paramount Australia and New Zealand Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer Beverley McGarvey and Studio 10’s Narelda Jacobs and Ngaarda Media CEO Tangiora Hinaki.

Some topics from speakers included the Metaverse, hybrid working models, imposter syndrome, mental health, navigating identity and many more themes related to career paths.
