GroupM took home the trophy at the fourth annual UnLtd: Big Kahuna surfing competition in Manly, with Blobfish named as the runners up.
The event, powered by The Trade Desk, saw 15 teams across the industry catch the waves for good to support young people at risk. The surfing competition included two rounds of surf tag and was open to all levels.
The spectators were also treated to yoga lessons by Tonic Media Network, music by Spotify and alcohol-free beer tasting by Capital Brewery. The guests also got to bid on a custom surfboard, donated by Blobfish.
James Bayes, GM of AU & NZ at The Trade Desk, said: “Big Kahuna is one of our favourite days of the year!
“It’s the perfect way to start summer, connecting with the industry outdoors in the sun and all for a great cause. We’re really proud to continue our partnership and to support UnLtd make an impact on youth at risk. Kudos to everyone who got involved!”
Tiffany Damm, commercial director of UnLtd, said: “Thanks to everyone who joined us, our sponsors and our event partners The Trade Desk.
“We loved bringing the industry together to have some fun in the sun, learn new skills and of course to raise much needed funds for youth at risk. It’s been a busy year with 25 UnLtd events across the country – huge thank you to everyone who has supported us this year and joined our events, in every weather!”
The event was the last for UnLtd in 2022. The next will be the Big Clash cricket tournament heading to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Auckland in February and March 2023.
