Google recently held its Google Marketing Live event at its ODI event space in Pyrmont in Sydney, bringing the international event Down Under for the first time to help attendees unlock consumer confidence and power profitable growth.

Brendan Kerin, Marrawarra and Barkindji Elder and cultural educator for the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council, provided a powerful and personal Welcome to Country, sharing the history of his people as well as his own family's story.

After a welcome from MD & VP of Google AUNZ Mel Silva, Rachael Powell, the APAC head of Google Ads Research, took to the stage to present insights on how marketers can find, engage and grow their valuable customers, moving consumers from the 'Confidence Gap' to a 'Confidence Shift'.

A panel discussion hosted by Ryan Ferguson, director of Google customer solutions for Google AUNZ, and featuring Aimee Buchanan, CEO of GroupM Australia & New Zealand; Ryan Hanly, CEO & co-founder of Travello; and Mim Haysom, CMO/EGM of brand & marketing at Suncorp Group tackled artificial intelligence, the use of data and how marketers can tackle the confidence gap of consumers.

Silva returned to the stage for a fireside chat with James Clear, the author of Atomic Habits, delving deeper into how the book came to life and how the audience could change their own habits to become better marketers, before a post-event networking lunch closed out the half-day event.
