AdNews' Perth L!VE half-day conference celebrated the creativity and innovation of the Western Australia media, advertising and marketing industry, as well as tackle industry hot topics such as the uncertain economic market and digital transformation.

Adam Ferrier opened the day with an inspiring presentation on how to be creative.

Louise Ardagh, general manager marketing and member engagement at HBF Health, then told the tale of how HBF combined its east coast and west coast positioning to become one national brand.

A marketers panel, with Curtin University director, brand and marketing Kate Jennings, Synergy head of brand, marketing and communications Rebecca Hargrave and Harvest Road head of marketing Sam Tomeo, highlighted the debate around brand vs performance marketing influenced by the macroeconomic climate.

As well as revealing that addressing greenwashing is one of their biggest targets this year.

After a networking break, Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA chief economist Aaron Morey and Nine’s Perth managing director Clive Bingwa made the economy look sexy with a fireside chat about the current state of WA's market.

Then an independent agency panel, featuring Match & Wood CEO and founder Lyndelle O’Keefe, Glide Agency CEO and IMAA leadership head Es Chandra, and Longreach Media managing director and founding partner Angela Nutton, proved that despite economic headwinds agencies are continuing to invest in new technologies and people & culture initiatives.

To round out the jam-packed day, Joel Pember, Juicebox strategist and co-founder, decoded digital transformation and explored how AI has overtaken the smartphone as the biggest driver of change
