Stewart Gurney, former chief strategy officer at PHD Australia, has joined independent full-service media agency Kaimera.
Gurney was with PHD for more than eight years and was instrumental in delivering the company’s consistent growth and new business wins, as well as developing its strategic and innovation product.
Gurney says he is excited to contribute to an independent agency that is "uniquely" Australian.
“It’s an excellent opportunity to help build an agency that puts the Australian consumer and media marketplace at its heart and drives real value for their client partners,” Gurney says.
“Kaimera sits in an interesting space within the market. It has senior talent and capabilities, a strong passion for trust and transparency, and the rare ability to tailor its offering to the real needs and requirements of its clients.”
Kaimera founder and CEO Nick Behr says Gurney's appointment highlights the strength of the agency during tough market conditions and industry-wide redundancies.
“At a time when others are sitting back and watching, it’s a chance for Kaimera to grow the team and continue to build a strong proposition in market,” Behr says.
“Stewart’s resume speaks for itself and we are delighted to have someone of his ability, experience and character to drive Kaimera forward through his distinguished marketing thinking.”
Kaimera has recently promoted Conor Riordan to client director and Jade Harley to brand, social and content director, while also currently hiring for two other roles within the business.
