Banking giant ANZ has extended its media contract with incumbent PHD, AdNews reveals.
The win comes after unconfirmed reports that the media account was going to pitch. AdNews can confirm there were no plans for a pitch.
The account, hubbed out of Melbourne and lead by Melbourne managing director Simon Lawson, is reportedly worth at least $50 million in media billings.
Omnicom has serviced ANZ since PHD Melbourne opened its doors in May 2012.
ANZ's creative account, held by Special Group, was also reportedly going to pitch. However, AdNews can confirm there are no plans for a pitch.
Recently the client's agency roster came together in support of disability representation with the ‘Unignorable Adbreak’, swapping out key scenes in ANZ's advertising to include a person with disability to launch the Shift 20 Initiative.
PHD has also recently won the media account for frozen food company McCain.
ANZ bank appointed Astrud Burgess as CMO last year.
ANZ and PHD had no comment.
