Pepsico appoints new marketing manager

EXCLUSIVE: Pepsico has appointed Danielle Maher as its new marketing manager of Beverages, following the departure of Paul Hyde to Grill'd Burgers.

Maher, who starts her new role on Monday, has been Pepsico Sydney's Beverages promotions manager for the past 8 years. She was the driving force behind this year's cash or car competition promotion, which has recorded a company global record of 1.4 million entries since the end of March.

Prior to joining Pepsico, Maher worked in the promotional arm of Singleton Ogilvy & Mather, where she headed up the Pepsico beverages account for Australia and Asia.

Maher told AdNews she was excited about the change. “It's great. I've been at Pepsico a long time now, so it's a logical transition for me,” she said.

She added that the role was more an extension of her current one, rather than a promotion. “It's a broader role and there'll be lots of new and exciting projects to work on. It's great to have the opportunity to work across [an increased] portfolio.”

Maher will report to Pepsico marketing director, Kim McConnie. A replacement promotions manager has not yet been announced.
