Big Brother will be returning to the network that first introduced the reality TV show to Australian audiences.
The revamped show will feature 24-hour live streaming, live nominations and live evictions, launching across all Network 10 platforms in Q4 of 2025, as announced at Paramount's 2025 Upfront presentation.
Comedian Sam Pang is creating and starring in his very own weekly comedy show in 2025, and while details for specifics of the show haven't been announced yet, Paramount confirmed its currently in the final stages of development.
Comedy quiz show Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation - now known as Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Gen - is returning to 10 with a new host and three new team captains.
International comedy Ghosts is being adapted by BBC Studios Australia into a local version; the Inspired Unemployed are launching a comedy travel series called The List; reality series Airport 24/7 will offer exclusive access to Melbourne Airport’s air traffic control tower; and House Hunters Australia will pair potential buyers with agents in the quest for a win-win deal.
A feature-length, live action Christmas movie called Staycation will also arrive at the end of the year.
Todd Samson will have a series called Todd Sampson’s Why? in 2025, exploring the ‘whys’ of "some of the most fascinating people" on the planet, while Graham Norton will host Wheel Of Fortune Australia in primetime later this year on 10.
International dramas coming in 2025 include all new seasons of Law & Order: SVU, Elsbeth, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, FBI International, NCIS, NCIS: Sydney, NCIS: Hawaii and the latest addition to the NCIS franchise, NCIS: Origins. Set in 1991, this prequel to the original series follows Jethro Gibbs at the outset of his career.
Kathy Bates will star in a legal drama series, Matlock, with 2025 also seeing the season premiere of Watson, a modern take on Sherlock Holmes’ offsider, following the titular John Watson as he pivots from sleuthing to solving medical mysteries.
Number of shows set to return next month, others in 2025
For the rest of this year, a number of new seasons of existing shows will be premiering in October.
These include Dessert Masters' second season; season three of Taskmaster (season four in 2025 will feature Tommy Little, Emma Holland, Lisa McCune, Takashi Wakasugi and Dave Hughes); Shark Tank Australia with new sharks Maxine Horne and Nick Bell, who’ll join returning investors Davie Fogarty, Jane Lu and Robert Herjavec; and The Graham Norton Show.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is back in the jungle with a new batch of celebrity campmates, returning Sunday, January 19 with hosts Julia Morris and Robert Irwin.
Two seasons of Australian Survivor will premiere in 2025. February sees a sequel of sorts with Survivor: Brains v Brawn II, before local Survivor legends take on players from Survivor franchises around the world in Survivor: Australia v The World later in the year.
Similarly, MasterChef Australia is returning next year as MasterChef Australia: Back to Win, featuring fan favourites who previously missed out on the trophy returning for a second shot at glory. MasterChef Australia: Back to Win kicks off with special guest judge Gordon Ramsay.
Other existing shows set to return next year include The Dog House Australia, Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly, Deal or No Deal, Gogglebox Australia, The Inspired Unemployed (Impractical) Jokers, Have You Been Paying Attention? and The Cheap Seats.
Longtime Network 10 soap opera Neighbours will also return next year.
Paramount Australia's SVP of content and programming, Daniel Monaghan, said 2025 will showcase a super-charged schedule of addictive, premium content on 10.
"With fresh home-grown hits rolling out right off the bat in January starting with I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and continuing all the way through to December with Big Brother, it’s a diverse slate of brilliant entertainment mixing audience favourites with brand new shows destined to be viewers’ new obsessions," he said.
Sport lineup headlined by soccer, basketball
On the news front, The Project and 10 News First remain, as do 10 News First: Lunchtime at 1pm, 10 News First: Afternoon at 3.30pm, 10 News First at 5pm and 10's Late News at 10pm on 10 Play and 10.30pm on 10.
For its sports offering, Paramount Australia and Football Australia recently inked a multi-platform media rights deal for Australian national teams through to 2028.
This means Network 10 and Paramount+ will be the home of the CommBank Matildas and Subway Socceroos in Australia, plus all Australian Women’s senior national team matches for the next four years, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027.
This is on top of Network 10 and Paramount+ already broadcasting A-League men’s and women’s matches for the 2024/25 season.
The National Basketball League is returning to a main free-to-air channel, with Sunday’s 2:30pm marquee game broadcast on Channel 10, while 10 BOLD will broadcast a Sunday 4:30pm game.
The MotoGP World Championship returns this October, while the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix will be back in Melbourne next March.
Paramount Australia and New Zealand's sport production director, Adam Cush, said Network 10 is entering a new era of sport.
“Our offering is as diverse as the Aussie audience watching in 2025, and we’re committed to showcasing sport in innovative ways across all our platforms," he said.
"Whether you want your fix of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, double doses of Sunday hoops with the NBL, the adrenaline rush of the MotoGP World Championship or all the A-Leagues, CommBank Matildas and Subway Socceroos football action, we’ve got you covered.”
Over 60 FAST channels on offer
As well as free-to-air multichannels 10 BOLD Drama and 10 Peach Comedy, viewers can also tune into over 60 FAST channels on 10 Play, including content from channels such as Nickelodeon and MTV and shows such as South Park, Offspring, Australia's Next Top Model, Prisoner, Good Chef Bad Chef, MasterChef, and Survivor.
Paramount also announced an exclusive FAST channel with BuzzFeed Food in partnership with Val Morgan Digital which will launch "very soon".
