Optus has teamed up with TBWA and News Corp to help Australians stay connected as the world faces lockdowns amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The telco released a full page ad on the back of News Corp's Sunday newspapers.
Here to Help, created by TBWA, asks Australians to introduce themselves to neighbours and share what they can help with during these periods of self-isolation.
The work suggests ways to help one another including picking up shopping, prescriptions and mail or a friendly phone call.
"We are committed to keeping Australian connected during these times and here to help enable that anyway we can," Optus chief marketing officer Melissa Hopkins said in a post on LinkedIn.
Last week, Optus announced it would offer customers extra mobile data during April and Optus Sport would be available for free with current subscribers to have their fees suspended until the end of May.
Optus CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin said in a statement that the telco was doing everything it could to ensure its network and services remained strong throughout the disruptions.
“Our hearts go out to all the people, businesses and communities that are being affected. The entire Optus team is dedicated to ensuring we are here for all our customers – to keep us connected and to offer our support," she said.
“We understand how much everyone is relying on our critical infrastructure to stay connected to friends and family, to schools, and to work, and we are stepping up to the challenge as we know it is essential to maintain positive daily life. And we are doing so in a safe and sustainable way.”
