Melbourne’s Bourke Street Mall will look a lot more like Times Square soon after Ooh! Media installs Australia’s largest full motion, high-resolution billboard early next year.
The digital billboard will be six storeys high and span almost 198 square metres. It is set to attract a large number of brands and be the most sought after billboard in the country. As well as displaying full motion advertising, the billboard will show the local news, entertainment and weather.
The sign is part of Ooh!’s new ‘Signature Collection’, which consists of a number of digitised billboards installed at major locations in Australia’s capital cities. Boards will also feature at Adelaide’s CBD Gateway at Rundle Mall, Perth’s City Gateway on the Mitchell Freeway and Brisbane’s Story Bridge Gateway. All of the billboards will be installed in 2015.
Bourke Street Mall’s new billboard will be able to feature live content such as movie trailers, TV commercials and RSS feeds making it even more attractive to brands. Brendon Cook, CEO of Ooh! said: “This screen will allow advertisers to engage with the one in six Victorians who pass through the city centre every single day.”
The Signature Collection is part of Ooh!’s broader digital strategy which has seen the company invest more than $50 million to date in proprietary platforms, hosting and infrastructure, resulting in its digital out-of-home revenue contributing 25% of total revenues.
