Danielle Keighery, two weeks out from starting as Optus' head of corporate affairs, has jumped to Qantas as its chief corporate affairs and communications officer.
Keighery has more than 25 years of experience in high-profile communications, public affairs, government and brand roles, including Virgin Australia, Bank of Queensland and, most recently, Crown Resorts as chief brand and corporate affairs officer for two years.
Keighery will replace Andrew McGinnes who resigned after 13 years with Qantas. Keighery will start March 1.
An Optus spokesperson told AdNews they wish Keighery well in her future ventures.
Both Qantas and Optus are in brand repair mode.
The value of Qantas’ brand has dived over the past year, due to customer complaints, and action by competition watchdog the ACCC, for allegedly selling tickets on cancelled flights.
Keighery was appointed at Optus to help the telecommunications company rebuild after an widespread outage in November.
