Omnicom Media Group (OMG) has named Philippa Brown as the new CEO of PHD Worldwide, replacing Mike Cooper.
The news comes after Cooper was recently appointed as OMG's first group CEO for APAC and EMEA.
Brown joins from OMG UK where she has been CEO since 2007, leading a team of 1,600 to serve more than 270 clients, as well as the launch of Hearts & Science in the UK market and the expansion of OMD UK and Manning Gottlieb OMD, which in 2018 won the UK’s largest media review..
"Philippa is a proven leader and a natural fit to lead PHD globally," Omnicom Media Group CEO Daryl Simm says.
"As CEO of OMG UK, she has worked closely with Mike Cooper in the original positioning of PHD as a global network, and has been heavily involved in PHD’s international client successes. She has singular insight into PHD’s culture, the expectations that clients have of the agency, and the ongoing transformation required for success."
Prior to her time with OMG, Brown spent 10 years at IPC Media where she rose to board director and held stints at DMB&B and BBH.
"Over the past decade, PHD has become one of the most respected agency networks in the industry," Brown says.
"Its growth, thought leadership and award-winning work is a testament to Mike Cooper’s leadership, and the combined contributions of our many talented people all around the world. My job – working with all the PHD offices and our clients – is to now build on the great success that has already been achieved."
She will begin her new role in London on 1 July, reporting to Daryl Simm.
Mark Coad is the CEO of PHD Australia, reporting to OMG ANZ CEO Peter Horgan.
PHD Australia recently secured the Virgin Media and AFL accounts both believed to be worth $15 million each.
